When we founded Ruskovilla in 1981, we had a firm belief that people need authentic natural fibres for their skin, fibres that support the skin’s function and thus promote overall well-being. For a very young baby, warmth is of utmost importance, and here in the north, we understand the significance of warm clothing as protection against the cold. It was also clear to us that our production must take into account the well being of both people and the environment – from the selection of raw materials to the finished product, and from manufacturing to the use of leftover valuable materials. Over the years, we have always adhered to these principles. Operating in harmony with nature and valuing Finnish craftsmanship remain the foundation of everything we do. We know who designs, cuts, sews, and packs our clothes. It’s important to us that you, too, can trust that your clothes are made in good conditions, with respect for both people and the environment. That’s why our products are made from certified organic natural fibres in Finland – now and in the future, even as the lights go out in many factories around us. We don’t follow fast fashion trends but create functional, durable, and timeless clothing, with the focus on pure, natural fibres. Clothes that will accompany you in both everyday life and on adventures. Also our colour palette is inspired by nature: calm, harmonious shades you encounter when walking in the forest, on the fell, or along the shore. We have added three new nature-inspired shades to our wool fleece collection – Cloudberry, Cranberry, and Heather – to bring warmth and energy to everyday life. They are equally at home in the tranquillity of the woods and on city streets.
