40 years of inspiration from nature

Ruskovilla’s story as a company that focuses on natural fibres and manufactures its products in Finland began in autumn 1981. It was preceded by the lifelong love and respect for nature held by Ruskovilla’s founders, Anneli Wahlsten and Mauno Mattsson. Nature and the fibres it gives us have a phenomenal ability to support people’s mental and physical wellbeing, and our founders wanted to include that in their clothing. This year we can take the beneficial effects of our products even further, as we are the first in the world to develop clothing and accessories that contain the Reconnecting Nature ™ forest extract. Developed by university researchers, the extract contains a diverse range of microbes that are found in forests and are scientifically proven to prevent the occurrence of autoimmune diseases and other illnesses. It is by no means a given that a family-run company based in Finland like us would still be in business four decades on, with global demand for our products. The secrets to our success are our loyalty to Anneli and Mauno’s initial idea and our skilled and motivated employees. Before reaching the customer, every product manufactured by Ruskovilla passes through countless pairs of hands that refuse to compromise on quality.
