A Metsä silk wool body, nappy pants knitted from flocky yarn, wool inserts and cloth nappies

Simply natural: wool and cotton

From around two months onwards, nappies no longer reflect feeding as reliably as in the early weeks. Older babies may urinate less frequently but in larger amounts, and bowel movements vary widely – some babies pass stools several times a day, others only once a week. Reusable nappies consist of two parts: an absorbent inner layer and a moisture-retaining outer layer. Against the skin comes a cotton nappy cloth, with folding instructions shown on the next page. For longer stretches of sleep, an additional flannel or wool insert can be added for extra absorbency. As your baby grows, an extra insert is usually needed. The same nappy cloths and inserts can be used from newborn through to toddlerhood. A bodysuit can be worn over the nappy to help keep everything in place. The outermost layer is breathable merino wool, which absorbs moisture and helps neutralise odours. Our woollen nappy pants are available in both short and long-leg styles, with a comfortably high waist that also helps keep your baby’s developing internal organs warm.
