Ruskovilla-Baby-in-Wool-2026

Regardless of how your baby is fed, shared mealtimes are about so much more than nourishment. They are moments to build connection through eye contact, gentle touch and a calming presence. When your baby feels relaxed and at ease, feeding often becomes easier too. What matters most is that your baby feels safe and receives the nourishment they need.

Permission to slow down and settle into your baby bubble

In the midst of caring for a newborn, a mother’s own wellbeing can easily be overlooked. After birth, you are allowed to slow down. Give yourself and your baby time to “nest” – to rest together in a calm, unhurried space, free from schedules and expectations. At this stage, being together and resting are enough. Friends and family can offer valuable support by helping with meals and everyday tasks. While it is natural for loved ones to want to hold the new arrival, there will be time for visits later, when the parents feel ready. Today, there is a wide range of clothing designed for breastfeeding. When choosing, focus on practicality, comfort and ease of care. During colder months, the risk of mastitis can be reduced by keeping the chest warm. You can use, for example, wool breast warmers or garments like Ruskovilla’s nursing tops, which feature a double layer of wool for added protection. A simple, conscious choice is to use washable breast pads. Harmful chemicals in textiles, cosmetics and detergents can easily end up in your baby’s mouth, so it is best to choose pure and gentle materials.
